*Dream run comes to an end*

THCC Reds fight to the end, but fall short.

In the national 50-over semifinal, the Reds saw their winning streak come to an end against a professional BSC Rehberge team. In amazing settings, with the Olympic Stadium back drop, Bipin won the toss and decided to bat. The going was tough at the start, with tight bowling and a slow outfield making runs a premium. Mithun and Cam were both out trying to up the scoring, but then Ali (44) and Abhik (29) did just that. BSC continued to bowl well and only Su’s determined 35 added more to a score of 186; defendable, but perhaps well below expectations. BSC showed their intentions from the start, with a six off the first ball. With the score at 3/42, the match was evenly poised, but then a fine partnership between Ronson (53) and Jafer (81) turned things Rehberge’s way. They showed the best way to deal with the slow outfield was to hit over it. The Reds kept fighting, but BSC reached the total with wickets and overs to spare. We wish BSC Rehberge all the best in next Sunday’s final. For THCC, a remarkable season of silverware and fun comes to an end. Thanks to Rehberge for organising the match and hosting THCC. You guys were fantastic and deserved winners. Thank you to all of our supporters who followed us on this journey. It feels like the best is yet to come for our club.
